Jealousy is a B*^!h!
Jealousy has been known to destroy good relationship since time immemorial and just because we are now in the modern age doesn’t mean things have changed when it comes to jealousy.
Up until now, this deadly type of envy still continues to ruin relationships and hasn’t shown any signs of stopping just yet.
Now, if you are one of those who are in a relationship filled with jealousy, start acting now or you will soon regret it. Jealousy is nothing but a poison that slowly kills whatever love you have left for your partner.
Don’t wait for the milk to spill and then cry about it. Do everything to contain it and get rid of jealousy for good.
So, how can you get rid of jealousy? First you have to confirm who is being jealous – is it you or your lover? This part is imperative because you wouldn’t be able to defeat an enemy whom you do not know.
If you are the one being jealous, good on you and that is not because I am being sarcastic. It is because you can control yourself and it would be a lot easier. Once you are done identifying yourself as the jealous one, you can proceed to understanding the reasons.
If your partner is the one being jealous, it’s not entirely a bad news, but remember, you cannot control and change someone else unless they want to. Now, what you can do to help your partner is to speak up. You can’t just shut up and act as if nothing is wrong or you will both suffer the consequences.
Talk to him or her about it in a nice way but make the other person feel that it is a serious matter.
What Dealing with Jealousy can do in The Long Run
You can easily make this an argument with yourself whenever you have a time for yourself. All you need is a strong resolve to save your relationship and make it last.
Now, if your partner is being the jealous one, lay all the cards on the table and let him or her know the things that can happen.
Never leave a detail for your benefit and be transparent. Also, never sugarcoat and do the choosing on how you can get rid of it and what method to use.
Trust your partner with the choosing and just be there to support him or her through it because a fight with one’s self is a tough battle.
Why do People Get Jealous?
Another tough part for you to deal with is identifying the cause of jealousy and if the reasons are valid or not. If the reasons behind the jealousy is legit, such as flirtations are really happening, then stay away from the person that causes it.
If the cause of jealousy is your family or friends that have been proven to support you without malice, then find a way to coexist. Remember, your life isn’t all about your partner and neither is his life all about yours.
There are other important people in you and your partner’s life such as friends and family so do not be selfish. Learn to coexist.
The Process of Overcoming Jealousy
Like I mentioned, there is no greater enemy than yourself so if you are the jealous type, let your partner know that you will be needing his or her support in order for you to be strong for the fight. If your partner is the jealous one, show him or her that you are with him or her until the end of the fight.
Nothing makes the love for each other more robust and vibrant than going through life’s experiences together. Never give up and soon, you will both enjoy a better version of your relationship.
